Volume 1 • Issue 4 • 1000e104 Biochem Anal Biochem ISSN:2161-1009 Biochem, an open access journal Biological Variation (BV) of quantities examined in laboratory medicine can be described as of three types, namely; variation over the span of life, predictable cyclical variation that can be daily, monthly or seasonal in nature, and random variation [1]. Random variations of analytes which consist of random fluctuation around the setting point of each individual is known as the intra-individual biological variation. Additionally, each person’s setting point may be different from another’s, and the overall variation resulting from this difference is known as inter-individual biological variation. In mathematical terms, these are usually expressed as Coefficients Of Variation (CV) and termed as CVw for intra-individual BV and CVg for inter-individual BV [2].

The evaluation of minimum detectable phantom thickness change using a scanning liquid filled ion chamber EPID dose response
ABSTRACTBackground: Although Electronic Portal imaging Devices (EPIDs) have originally developed for positioning verification, they can also be used for dosimetric purposes. In the current work, the dose response of minimum detectable thickness of a Scanning Liquid filled Ion Chamber EPID, SLIC-EPID, and the variation of transmitted dose with the shift of inhomogeneity inside of phantom was al...
متن کاملBiological variation of free plasma amino acids in healthy individuals.
BACKGROUND Biological variation data for free plasma amino acids are lacking from the more comprehensive databases. Therefore, we determined the intra- and inter-individual components of variation in healthy subjects. These data were used to define desirable goals for imprecision, bias and total error, indices of individuality and reference change values. METHODS Plasma samples were collected...
متن کاملA New Dictionary Construction Method in Sparse Representation Techniques for Target Detection in Hyperspectral Imagery
Hyperspectral data in Remote Sensing which have been gathered with efficient spectral resolution (about 10 nanometer) contain a plethora of spectral bands (roughly 200 bands). Since precious information about the spectral features of target materials can be extracted from these data, they have been used exclusively in hyperspectral target detection. One of the problem associated with the detect...
متن کاملDesirable standards for laboratory tests if they are to fulfill medical needs.
Many strategies to define desirable standards for laboratory tests to fulfill medical needs have been proposed over the last three decades. Traditional approaches are based on reference (normal) values, opinions of clinicians, the state of the art, views of experts, data on biological variation, and assessment of the effect of error on clinical use. All these approaches have advantages and disa...
متن کاملVariation in blood count parameters of children aged 5 to 11 years in Abidjan, Côte d\'Ivoire
Background: In Côte d’Ivoire, as in most developing countries, the reference values of hematological indices currently in use come from data collected from populations living in industrialized countries. The aim of this study was to determine variations in the childchr('39')s blood count in Cote dchr('39')Ivoire. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study has focused on 310 ...
